After my residency with Why Not Theatre was post-poned in March, I took the time to sit down and write this little reflection. Thank you to The Dance Current for giving the support and this platform. Here are some thoughts on disability arts in the time of isolation.”Over the past year, I have been conceiving a project that would refocus the lens of my praxis, unpack the methodologies that I was trained with and reshape my approach to creation and performance to get my feet back onstage. I was venturing into the residency this spring to tackle the following questions: “How do I create a live performance as variable as my disease?” and “How do I create a show that I don’t necessarily have to show up for?” And then this pandemic hit.”
